One of MMA’s top talent-building promotions can now hold shows in the “Fight Capital of the World.”
On Tuesday at a monthly meeting, the Nevada Athletic Commission approved LFA for a professional promoter’s license in its jurisdiction.
“These guys are the top,” NAC executive director Jeff Mullen said, prior to the vote for approval. “They are just under the UFC and supply more fighters to the UFC and the upper levels – PFL and Bellator – than any other organization in the world. They do fights all over the country and all over the world. They are very well organized and a great organization. I highly recommend them for the state of Nevada.”
It’s unknown when LFA will make its debut in Nevada. The promotion currently has events booked for Arizona, Brazil, Kentucky, and California through the end of June.
LFA launched in 2017 as a byproduct of a merger of Legacy FC and Resurrection Fighting Alliance (RFA). Led by Ed Soares, Sven Bean, and Mark Bieri, LFA is widely regarded as the biggest feeder organization for the UFC in North America.
Since its formation, LFA has held 157 events in just more than five years. Alumni include UFC flyweight champion Brandon Moreno, former UFC women’s flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko, and former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Holly Holm, among others.
