This is the first picture of a man killed trying to protect his friend in a high street fight in east London, according to his family.
Lumturi Zeqja, 27, died in front of his friends after a devastating brawl in Church Lane, Leytonstone at 11pm on Sunday.
Shocking footage shows friends begging him not to die and “to keep breathing” as he lies in the front garden of a cocktail bar being given CPR by paramedics.
He tragically died at the scene opposite Leytonstone Station.
Another man in his 20s also filmed getting first aid was taken to hospital where his condition is believed to be not life-threatening.
There have been no arrests at this stage.
His cousin Violet Uka told The Standard: “He has been living in London for 13 years. He was a hard worker.
“He got into the middle of the fight to separate his friend and they killed him.
“He is a brave and good man to step in and try to save his friend.
“The killer’s hand has left us all miserable. He took Lumi from us at the most beautiful age.”
She added: “There are no words to comfort his family.”
Detective Inspector Adam Callaghan said: “Our investigation is moving at pace and we are pursuing a number of lines of inquiry. Our priority is to find the person responsible and get justice for the victim and his family.”
Chief Superintendent Simon Crick, lead for policing in Waltham Forest and Newham, said: “My thoughts and sympathies are with Mr Lumturi’s family and friends for their tragic loss.
“I can understand that this incident will have caused concern and shock in the local community and would like to reassure residents that we will have local officers patrolling in the area. Please speak to these officers; they will help allay any concerns you may have.”
