The city of Lexington is changing the format for a housing assistance program.
Lexington’s Housing Stabilization Program will offer additional services. They will include legal counsel for tenants, application fee assistance, and intensive case management for families experiencing continued financial difficulty.
Beginning next Monday, new rental assistance applications will be initiated automatically for tenants with an active eviction case. That will also be done for partner agencies serving vulnerable populations, such as domestic violence victims.
Emergency utility assistance will no longer be offered through the stabilization program. Referrals will be made to other agencies. The changes will not pertain to any applications submitted prior to January 30th.
