Lewis Miller signs for Hibs as Lee Johnson nips in to complete transfer for Australia rising star

Hibs have swooped to sign Australia U-23 international Lewis Miller from Macarthur FC.

The right-back has agreed a three-year deal with the option of a further year at Easter Road and becomes Lee Johnson ’s fifth signing since taking over just three weeks ago.

Miller spent the last four years with Central Coast Mariners before signing a pre-contract deal with A-League rivals Macarthur earlier in the year.

But Hibs nipped in to land the 21-year-old for a five-figure fee before he made a single appearance for the Sydney club.

Miller follows veteran goalkeeper David Marshall and former Leeds United midfielder Nohan Kenneh in joining the Leigh side this summer while forward Momodou Bojang has agreed a season-long loan deal from Gambian side Rainbow FC.

Defender Rocky Bushiri made his loan deal from Norwich City permanent earlier on Thursday.

Johnson is keen to have his Hibs squad in place early with the first competitive game of the season, against Clyde in the Premier Sports Cup, coming on July 9.

Former Celtic and Ireland winger Aiden McGeady remains a target following his release from Sunderland.
