Lewis Ferguson kickstarts Bologna career with goal as Steve Clarke Scotland plan pays dividends

Lewis Ferguson has opened his account in Serie A after netting in Bologna's clash with Leece.

The former Aberdeen star made the switch to Italy this summer after four years at the Scottish Premiership club. But he only featured for a combined 30 minutes in Bologna's opening three league games as question marks were raised over the move to the continent.

However he has worked hard to force himself into head coach Thiago Motta's plans and was rewarded with a first start against Napoli last week before starring in a Coppa Italia win over Cagliari midweek and remaining in the team to face Lecce on Sunday. And his goal came from the 23-year-old reacting first from a Musa Barrow corner to head home his side's second goal at the Stadio Renato Dall'Ara. Previously a regular in Scotland squads, Ferguson has been allowed to focus in establishing himself with I Rossoblu by Steve Clarke, and netting his maiden goal will do his chances of a recall no harm.
