Lewis Crocker set for busy schedule as Adam Booth outlines plans

Adam Booth has planned a busy schedule for Lewis Crocker as the Belfast fighter looks to get his career up and running again.

Crocker - whose last fight was 13 months ago - was left gutted once again last week after his comeback fight on Michael Conlan's bill was shelved at late notice due to issues surrounding his opponent.

The 25-year-old was also due to fight back in August, but those plans were derailed after he picked up a rib injury during his final sparring session.

Crocker linked up with Booth earlier this year but has yet to show the progress he has made under his new trainer.

There are plans to get the South Belfast boxer back out this week, and Booth has predicted a busy schedule for the unbeaten prospect whose record stands at 14-0.

"Lewis has been out for a year now so there is going to be some steady progression with him," Booth said.

"He should be boxing next week, and we want to see him fight three times in quick succession.

"We want to see him come back and start building some momentum.

"It is unfortunate about his last two fights, but hopefully he can get back on track and keep building from there."

Crocker's last fight was last November when he stopped Artem Haroyan to defend his WBO European welterweight title.

Speaking to Belfast Live earlier this year, 'The Croc' said he was relishing returning under experienced coach Booth, who looks after Conlan and previously trained Ryan Burnett to world titles.

"I am ready to make up for lost time. I never fully understood how hard I should have been training and the levels of Mick and the others are training," he said back in June.

"So it has given me so more encouragement and made me realise how good I can be. There is definitely so much more to come from me.

"I haven't even touched the surface of where I am going to be. As a boxer I am constantly learning things, even things like my fitness.

"I know I will be 10 times the fighter I am now. Adam Booth has so much experience and we have some great fighters here, like Josh Kelly. It is a really great team and everyone works off each other as well."
