Former Georgia Bulldogs defensive back Lewis Cine looks more like himself these days. Cine, who was a first-round pick in the 2022 NFL draft, missed much of the 2022 NFL season with the Minnesota Vikings after suffering a serious lower leg injury.
Cine did not look fully healthy a year ago and recorded just one tackle for the Vikings in 2023. Now, he’s looking much better. Cine recorded 11 tackles, one sack, one interception, one pass deflection and two quarterback hits in the Vikings’ 27-12 preseason win over the Cleveland Browns.
“He (Lewis Cine) very well could have earned himself a roster spot today,” said Andrew Harbaugh of Vikings Wire. Cine has not had the best training camp, but if his performance against the Browns is any indication, then he may be turning the corner.
Lewis Cine’s interception came off a deflection late in the second quarter.

Cine delivered a massive hit on Browns quarterback Tyler Huntley midway through the third quarter.

Cine certainly will see more playing time in Week 3 of the preseason as the Vikings try to evaluate what they have in the former Georgia safety.
