Lewis Capaldi to drop new single this Friday ahead of second album release

Lewis Capaldi has delighted fans with the announcement of a brand new single to land just in time for the weekend ahead of the release of his next album.

News of the April 14 release follows the Pointless singer's debut album 'Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent' which is currently sitting at number one on iTunes and number six in the UK Midweek chart.

The Scottish singing sensation is currently touring across the US and belting out bangers to his stateside fans on his biggest tour yet, which has completely sold out. His second album 'Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent' is set for release on May 19.

Earlier this month, Lewis launched his highly-anticipated Netflix documentary which delved into the finer details of his life and musical career and all the pressures that have come with his rising fame across the globe.

The emotional account of his life since he shot to fame in 2018 saw a rare insight into his family life, as well as some heartbreaking admissions surrounding his struggles with tourettes and anxiety when performing on stage.

Lewis will be back in the UK this summer blasting his familiar tunes on home turf as he takes to BBC Radio 1's big weekend held in Dundee in May, shortly after his album release on May 19.

He will also be playing two shows at the Edinburgh Royal Highland centre on two dates in August and September, which is also currently sold out.

We reported previously how he left his stateside fans thrilled following a performance in New York when he surprised gig-goers with an appearance of the Jonas brothers who joined him on stage and left his fans speechless.

The Scottish hitmaker welcomed Nick, Joe and Kevin Jonas onstage during the American leg of his tour, performing the iconic throwback 'Lovebug' as Lewis joked he was now a new member of the gang who shot to fame in the early 2000s.

Sharing the footage on Twitter, fan Will Flower quipped: "Went to Lewis Capaldi but Jonas Brothers came out and I’m now a 13 year old girl."

Another fan at the gig wrote: "The freaking Jonas Brothers came out during Lewis Capaldi’s encore tonight!! Still freaking out."

Lewis Capaldi also shared a clip of the video from his management backstage adding: "I can't believe I am now a Jonas brother."

Lewis Capaldi's Netflix documentary How I'm Feeling Now is now available to stream on Netflix.
