Lewis Capaldi teases fans with clip of new music ahead of 'big announcement'

Lewis Capaldi has sent his fans wild after teasing them with a clip of some new music on TikTok.

It's been almost three years since the star released anything - and followers are now being told to expect "something big" at 10pm tonight (Friday, September 2).

In his most recent post on the social media platform, the Someone You Loved singer is standing in the 02 arena in London with a guitar, belting out some lines from a new tune.

Fans can't wait to find out what the news will be (Lewis Capaldi / TikTok)

He sings: "I'm not ready to find out you know how to forget me. I’d rather hear how much you regret me.

"And pray to God you never met me, than forget me."

Fans have been reacting to the post, one said: "Oh I’ve missed your voice"

Scots singer Lewis Capaldi teased fans with a reaction to his "new single" on social media on Wednesday.

Taking to TikTok, the musician shared a video which supposedly captured a reaction to a new single from his latest album. This prompted theories it could be the first sign of Capaldi's second album, and his first since 2019 when he released the chart topping Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent.

Earlier in the week, Lewis broke his social media silence with a cryptic post hinting at new music.

The West Lothian star c ame off social media back in January 2021 to focus on his highly anticipated second album. He wrote at the time that he'd enjoyed "the most incredible few years" and it meant "the world to have the support" of his fans.

However, he returned to social media by uploading to his Instagram stories and making the same image his profile photo. The date, September 2 was teased across a purple background as well as a reference to 'TikTok' and time stamps of 10pm British Summer Time (BST), 2pm Pacific Time (PT) and 5pm Eastern Time (ET).
