Lewis Capaldi strips for billboard launch as he announces new single

A billboard featuring a half-naked Lewis Capaldi to promote his newest single, Forget Me, has shocked fans across the nation.

The 25-year-old singer is set to make his long-awaited return to the industry with his new song out on Friday, September 9, reports the Daily Record. The Bruises hitmaker announced Forget Me during a TikTok live last week at London's O2 Arena, where he was performing.

Taking to social media to share the launch, Capaldi tweeted: "Took my clothes off and traumatised the general public all in the name of shameless self promotion. Sex sells. New single FORGET ME out the 9th September x."

The billboard showcases a shirtless Lewis Capaldi sitting stone-faced, wearing nothing but boxers and some sunglasses while holding a martini cocktail. After these snaps were released, Lewis said: "I swear to god if I’ve stripped down to my pants and put it on billboards all over the world to promote this new single just for it to be a massive flop I’ll be so embarrassed."

Fans have flocked to his comments to share their shock and excitement at the announcement, and the cheeky billboard. One Twitter user joked: "Someones gran is gonna have a heart attack when she sees them."

While another said: "Raw sex appeal like getting Greggs sausage roll flakes on yer peely wally Scottish skin and then eating them later."

And a third wrote: "that is the best billboard ad i have ever seen, proud of u lc."

Another added: "I think you look absolutely gorgeous. And it's about time you start showing off your body... You have nothing to be ashamed about. Love them shoulders! XOXO."

Lewis' new single, Forget Me, will be available on all streaming platforms on September 9, 2022.
