Singer Lewis Capaldi has shot to the top spot yet again and secured his fourth number one single, it has been announced.
According to the Official Singles Chart, 'Pointless', his latest release, has soared in popularity with the Scots singer thanking his fans. Co-written by Ed Sheeran, the single rocketed 14 places to finish 1,200 chart sales ahead, boosted by strong physical and digital download sales of the song.
It comes as he took to social media in recent weeks to ask fans to help him reach his goal. He even went as far as releasing his mobile number and when a fan downloaded his single, they had a chance to get a phone call from the man himself.

Now of course, when a phone number is released online, especially that of a celebrity, we often think it's fake. But as it turns out, it wasn't a fake number with the Scottish legend himself confirming that it was indeed him., reports Glasgow Live.
This marks the singers fourth Official Number one single following Someone You Loved (2019), Before You Go (2020) and Forget Me, released just last year.
'Pointless' comes from his upcoming second studio album Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent, due to be released in May of this year. And no doubt he will be performing the hit song soon with the West Lothian star coming to the capital in September for a huge outdoor performance, with thousands of fans expected to flock to the Royal Highland Showgrounds.
Initially, Edinburgh had been missed out of the singer's Scottish tour dates, however tickets for the massive open air performance will now go on sale next week.
Celebrating his latest Number 1, Lewis Capaldi told Official Charts, “Thank you so much if you streamed, downloaded or listened to Pointless in any way. The support has been incredible. It really means a lot. This is my fourth UK Number 1, I now have the same amount of Number 1’s as B*Witched...so, pretty f*cking good if you ask me!
“I know there’s a cost of living crisis on, so thank you for spending your money on my music. I appreciate it."
