Lewis Capaldi has asked fans to look out for his sister's red Mini Cooper after it was swiped in Glasgow.

The singer-songwriter shared a post on Instagram tonight after his sister, Danielle, revealed on Facebook it had been stolen from the East End of the city over the weekend. The car is described as red and black, has a Mickey Mouse topper on its aerial and has a registration plate of AJ21 MXL.

Posting the appeal on Instagram, Lewis wrote: "Sister's car has been nicked. Keep a look out if you're in Glasgow. (Very) Facebook mum post of me."

A £500 reward is being offered by Danielle for the car's return.

The post on her Facebook reads: "Black and red Mini Cooper stolen from Tollcross Park View car park last night/this morning AJ21 MXL. Had a mickey mouse topper on the aerial.

"Share and keep and eye out please, £500 reward."

Officers from Police Scotland confirmed they are investigating the theft, with inquiries at an early stage.

A spokesperson told the Glasgow Times : "At 1.55 pm on Sunday, December 11, a report was made to police regarding the theft of a car from an address in Tollcross, Glasgow. Inquiries are at an early stage."
