Lewis Capaldi once received a touching email from Elton John after admitting that he struggles with imposter syndrome. The Scottish singer-songwriter performed, arguably, the biggest set of his career at the weekend as he belted out a stellar setlist on Worthy Farm's Pyramid Stage.
Unfortunately, Lewis began struggling during his performance, for which he had taken three weeks off to prepare due to his recent health issues, as a result of his Tourette's. The multi-award-winning artist, 26, was moved as the supportive crowd before him helped him out by singing the rest of his songs at the top of their lungs.
After his struggles on Saturday, Lewis announced via social media today (June 27) that he would be taking a break from touring "for the foreseeable future" as he "hoped 3 weeks away would sort me out". "But the truth is I'm still learning to adjust to the impact of my Tourette's and on Saturday it became obvious that I need to spend much more time getting my mental and physical health in order, so I can keep doing everything I love for a long time to come," he wrote on social media this morning.

Earlier this year, Lewis revealed that he had a conversation with Ed Sheeran about his imposter syndrome, which is when someone believes their success is undeserved and the result of a fluke, rather than something they achieved through their hard work and talent. During his documentary, "How I'm Feeling Now", Lewis told the camera as he was getting ready for an awards show: "I wonder what Elton John is gonna sing.
"He sent me a really lovely email, did I tell you about this? Had a few beers with Ed Sheeran and I was telling him about my imposter syndrome situation.
"Elton sent me an email saying 'Dear Lewis, I was talking to Ed yesterday and we talked about you. He said you were feeling a bit like an imposter. B******KS.
"You are totally your own man. Your album is still riding high all over the world. And it is your FIRST album,"
He added: "You write beautiful songs that resonate with millions of people. You are great live and a wonderful singer. You are also very funny and original. I mean this sincerely. So stop this now please or I will come up to Sussex and bring out the latent homo in you. Buckets of love. Elton’."
Speaking about the impact Sir Elton's email had on him, Lewis explained: "I mean it's nice to hear and stuff but you obviously feel like that. I don't think it's ever going to go away that feeling. I got here today and I'm like 'Why the f*** am I here?'"
