Lewis Capaldi's Leeds Festival 2023 replacement announced as another big act added to line-up

Lewis Capaldi's replacement at Leeds Festival 2023 has been announced.

Capaldi recently returned to performing again at Glastonbury weeks ago. But that return wasn't smooth sailing and he struggled to sing his songs due to Tourette's.

Lewis had been scheduled to perform at Leeds Fest on Sunday, August 27. But, the singer, who has been open about his health struggles, announced he was taking a break from touring - leaving organisers needing a replacement.

Announcing his decision to pull out, Lewis Capaldi said: "The fact that this probably won't come as a surprise doesn't make it any easier to write, but I'm very sorry to let you know I'm going to be taking a break from touring for the foreseeable future. "I used to be able to enjoy every second of shows like this and I'd hoped three weeks away would sort me out.

"But the truth is I'm still learning to adjust to the impact of my Tourette's and on Saturday it became obvious that I need to spend much more time getting my mental and physical health in order, so I can keep doing everything I love for a long time to come."

A poll, asking fans who they wanted to see replace Capaldi had Harry Styles and Paramore as lead choices. A number of people also hoped to see Taylor Swift or Florence + The Machine.

But, the organisers have opted for a familiar face, and one that didn't even make it on the poll. The 1975 have been announced as Lewis Capaldi's replacement. Knuckles have also been added to the line-up.
