Lewis Capaldi is taking another break from performing after an emotional set on Glastonbury's Pyramid Stage saw fans unite to finish his lyrics when the singer's Tourette's overcame him. This means that his appearance at Chepstow Racecourse on Saturday, July 1 will be cancelled.
Lewis was due to headline on Saturday as part of a weekend of music at the racecourse, which will also see George Ezra and Lionel Richie perform, as well as Sugababes, Cat Burns, Sigrid and more. The multi-award-winning singer-songwriter has openly spoken about his struggles and ultimate diagnosis with Tourette's, including in his Netflix documentary, How I'm Feeling Now. At Glastonbury his voice went but it led to a beautiful moment with his fans. For the latest music news, sign up to our What's On newsletter

On Tuesday, June 27, Lewis shared a statement on Instagram saying he was 'incredibly sorry' but that it was 'obvious' that he needs to work on his health and a three-week break at the start of June was not enough.
In his statement thanking fans for the amazing messages of support, he said: "The fact that this probably won't come as a surprise doesn't make it any easier to write but I'm very sorry to let you know I'm going to be taking a break from touring for the foreseeable future."
He went on to say that he was 'incredibly sorry to everyone who had planned to come to a show' but he wanted to be well enough to perform to a standard deserved by his dedicated fans. "Playing for you every night is all I've ever dreamed of so this has been the most difficult decision of my life."

At the end of his set on Saturday, he said:" Glastonbury, I'm really sorry. I'm a bit annoyed with myself. I feel like I'll be taking another wee break over the next couple of weeks. So you probably won't see much of me for the rest of the year, maybe even. But when I do come back and when I do see you, I hope you're still up for watching us."
Lewis only sang a few words of his Someone You Loved song and stayed on stage as the crowd sang back at him. As he walked off stage at the end of his set he said: "I genuinely dreamt of doing this. If I never get to do it again, this has been enough."
Ticketholders for Lewis' Chepstow gig are being advised that Ticketmaster will contact them in due course and an automatic refund will be issued.
Earlier this month, the singer took a break ahead of his Glastonbury set revealing he hadn't been home since Christmas and needed to 'be Lewis from Glasgow' for a bit.
He told fans: "I need to take a moment to rest and recover, to be at my best and ready for Glastonbury and all the of the other incredible shows coming up so that I'm able to continue doing what I love for a long time to come. I need to take these three weeks to be Lewis from Glasgow for a bit, spend some time with my family and friends and do normal life things that are an important part of me feeling better. I hope everyone understands."
