Lewis Capaldi's betting odds for Christmas No.1 after claiming most streamed song

Lewis Capaldi, the newly-announced record holder for the UK’s most-streamed single of all time, has entered the betting for this year’s Christmas Number One.

The Scottish singer has entered the odds with a good chance at 12/1, with LadBaby - responsible for the last four festive chart-toppers, favourites at 3/1. They are followed Baddiel, Skinner & The Lightning Seeds and Tyson Fury, both 5/1, and then a step back to Elton John at 8/1 and Michael Buble at 10/1.

The leading bookmaker is also quoting 10/1 for Capaldi to record a James Bond theme at any point in the next 10 years. William Hill spokesperson, Lee Phelps, said: “Someone You Love is the tune ringing around every radio station at the moment.

"If Lewis Capaldi’s record-breaking track can sustain its popularity for the next few weeks he looks in with a shot of taking the Christmas top spot at 12/1.

“Though we can’t see Capaldi entering the betting to be the next 007, he has to be considered for recording the theme and we go 10/1 for him to get the gig for any of the James Bond films produced in the next decade.”

Other artists listed in the Christmas number one single odds are Ed Sheeran (12/1), Cliff Richard (12/1), Taylor Swift (14/1) and Stormzy (14/1).

Glasgow Live recently reported that Lewis Capaldi took the coveted gong for most streamed song of all time, over taking Ed Sheeran's track, Shape Of You.

Lewis' track, Someone You Loved, has leapfrogged Ed's track, Shape Of You, as the UK's most streamed song of all time, which was announced by the Official Charts Company.

The West Lothian born star secured the nummber one spot in a list that has been compiled to celebrate 70 years of the Official Singles Chart.

The local singer received a specially-made matte black Number One plaque, and an inflatable crown to mark the monumental occasion.

The song has amassed 562 million audio and video streams combined, making it the most streamed song of all time to this day.
