Lewis Capaldi responds to concerned fans who are 'worried' over his stage appearance

West Lothian superstar Lewis Capaldi has responded to fans on social media who have voiced concerns over his health and wellbeing following a string of new performances.

A recent clip of a Capaldi concert went viral on TikTok, and has fans worried about the star, reports the Daily Record. Back in September 2022, Lewis went public with the news that that he had been diagnosed with Tourettes Syndrome (TS) back in March of the same year.

And concerns have been raised again due to the level of twitches that the singer was showing onstage. Addressing the video, Lewis said: "Hello it's Lewis here. I've seen this video here doing the rounds on TikTok and I see a lot of people in the comments concerned because I'm twitching quite a lot."

He went on to mimic the shoulder twitch that happens often on stage, which he has also stated he has gotten Botox injections to help calm it down. Lewis continued: "I'm doing this quite a lot and look a bit uncomfortable. I've got Tourette's so I'm just twitching quite a bit but it's not an issue in the slightest. I'm absolutely fine.

"It's just that this happens when I get tired, nervous, excited or whatever so it just gets more intense. I'm not doing it now at all because I'm lying in my bed in my pants but this [gesturing to the original video] is at the end of an hour and a half gig and I'm singing in front of 15,000 people.

"So I'm tired and I'm very excited because this whole arena is singing my songs back to me but I'm fine. Thanks to everyone who came to the gig that night. It was incredible."

Worried fans flocked to the comments section of the video, which was posted by TikTok user @itslauraamy, to send their messages of support to Lewis. One TikTok user wrote: "Didn’t know he had tics, this is sad as bless him."

Another said: "I know with tics it's so stressful especially if people see.... but he's so adorable!! I love him."

And a third wrote: "All the years I’ve watched Lewis I’ve never seen him this bad. This must have gotten worse recently, from not knowing to noticing all the time now!"

One added: "Never noticed any tics previously".

This news comes after tickets to Lewis' new gig in Edinburgh sold out almost immediately, leaving many fans heartbroken. The singer once again took to social media to tell fans he was "lost for words" after the tickets were snapped up.

Lewis said: "Actually properly lost for words 30,000 of ya just sold this out in seconds!!!!! I am your humble king."
