Lewis Capaldi parties in Edinburgh after 'dropping in' to popular Cowgate club

Singer Lewis Capaldi was spotted partying in the Capital as Scotland’s nightclubs reopened for the first weekend since the latest coronavirus restrictions were eased across the country.

The West Lothian star took photographs with fans outside Sneaky Pete’s in the Cowgate days after being revealed as one of the headliners for the Parklife festival in Manchester this summer.

Nightclub bosses posted an image of the ‘Someone You Loved’ performer “dropping in” to sample a slice of Edinburgh nightlife in a post on Instagram.

It is one of dozens of venues across the city welcoming back revellers to party after nightclubs were given the go-ahead to reopen into the small hours by First Minister Nicola Sturgeon earlier this month.

Capaldi is due to take centre stage at June’s massive music event in Heaton Park alongside rapper 50 Cent and Megan Thee Stallion.

The Scottish favourite will also play TRNSMT in Glasgow in July, headlining the main stage with Wolf Alice, The DMA’s and Norwegian star Sigrid.

He recently told the Daily Record fans could expect to hear new music soon as his eagerly anticipated follow up to ‘Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent’ nears completion.

"I can't wait to get the songs out now and release my new music. It's been a long wait for everyone."
