Lewis Capaldi motivates fans during gruelling Peloton class as he reveals embarrassing injury

Lewis Capaldi left fans stunned after he took part in a quick Peloton class in London to promote his new album - but was left with an unfortunate injury.

The West Lothian singer, 26, released his highly anticipated second album, Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent, last week and joined in on a special workout to promote the record.

The Someone You Loved singer joined Peloton instructor Ben Alldis and a selection of lucky fans for the workout class, but it wasn't all fun and games.

During one of his intimate gigs, Lewis told fans in attendance in London that as a result of his intense spin class, he came away with a bruised 'gooch'. He said: “Yesterday I did a thing with Peloton. It’s this big bike and they take these classes in London so I went along and did a quick class and it was f****** hard.

“I was sweating a lot. Also, this is a bit of TMI (too much information), but the saddle of the bike has really caused me, even now when I’m sitting down, like my goods are sore – I have a bruised gooch.”

“Gooch” is a slang term for perineum.

Sharing a clip of the Peloton work-out online, instructor Ben Alldis said: "Joining us in the studio, it's the one and only Lewis Capaldi in the house. How we doing Lewis? Let's go!"

As he walked into the studio, Lewis was met with a round of applause from the Peloton class as he high-fived fans on the way to his bike. Getting the class ready, Ben said: "We're getting our form on check," before Lewis took over: "When they get out of the saddle, they distribute their weight to the middle of the bike. 360 peddle strokes."

Ben informs the class that Lewis has prepared some motivational quotes to keep the class going during their work out. The camera cuts to the Bruises singer, who is dripping in sweat, telling the class: "We only lose when we don't try."

The class kicks off with Lewis' hit Wish You The Best, as he tells the fitness fanatics: "I want to see your lips moving".

This comes after Lewis revealed he splashed out on an expensive Peloton spin class bicycle – which cost £1895, plus a £39 per month subscription for unlimited video classes. He told The Mirror in 2020: “I’ve just bought a Peloton, the thing you do spin classes on.

“When I finish my quarantine exercising and we’re back into the world, I’m going to walk around with my top off all the time drenched in baby oil. My abs are going to be glistening.”
