Lewis Capaldi has broken his silence after fans were left in tears following the release of his latest music video.
The Scottish musician who is known for his unique sense of humour and killer vocals often shares his raw feelings in his heartfelt music and his new single is no different.
Earlier this month, the 26-year-old shared the video for Wish You the Best, featuring postman John played by Harry Potter actor David Bradley.
However, later in the video, John passes away leaving his beloved dog Willow heartbroken as she mourns the loss of her companion at his graveside.
But Willow soon finds a new home with a younger postman, who takes her in until she passes away and is reunited with John.
The emotional moment has left fans bawling their eyes out, with people taking to TikTok to share their reactions, including a young child who couldn't control their emotions.
Reacting to the video, Lewis wrote: "I am now making children cry," before captioning his post: "This was not my intention hahahahahaha oh no."
His post which has been liked over one million times in less than 24 hours was soon flooded with messages from fans, with one writing: "You need to pay for my therapy but it was fun watching my ex cry."
"This was exactly my reaction! I don't know if I'll ever be the same again!" said a second.
Before a third went on to say: "I didn't believe anyone so I watched it now I can't stop crying."
"I wasn't going to watch it been really going through it the last couple of months. At first, I was like this isn't so bad then out of nowhere I was bawling," explained a fourth.
It comes just days after Lewis surprised a doting fan with a touching video message to celebrate her birthday.
Mum Lisa Devine had hoped to get in touch with Lewis on behalf of her daughter, Erin, who was born with cerebral palsy and had never been interested in music – until hearing Lewis' material.
Lisa explained that his music has helped Erin with her speech and vocabulary development in recent years.
Wishing her a happy birthday, Lewis said to Erin: "I wanted to do this video to wish you a very happy birthday.
"I hear you're a fan of my music so thank you very much for that and hopefully, I'll see you soon."
