Lewis Capaldi leaves fans in tears with heartbreaking new video - and sparks new TikTok trend

Lewis Capaldi has left fans in tears with his latest music video which has sparked its very own TikTok trend.

The West Lothian singer, 26, released his new track Wish You The Best last month accompanied by an equally emotional music video. The Someone You Loved singer even described the track as one of “the saddest songs I’ve ever written”.

Lewis previously explained: “It’s a song about what we don’t say to those people. I was fascinated by the things left unsaid, whether that be in a relationship or a friendship.”

The emotional video has already racked up over 12 million views on YouTube - and plenty of Lewis’ fans have taken to social media to share their reactions. The Scots singer has been sharing his clips from his supporters on TikTok.

The video follows an older mail carrier named John and his beloved scruffy dog called Willow.

As it unfolds, its cycle-of-life narrative shines a warm light on the devastating pain of loss and the redemptive power of love from the view of the beloved pet.

The video sees the relationship between an elderly postman and his dog blossom until the man dies, leaving his pup heartbroken. After scenes of mourning at his graveside, the pooch is welcomed in by a younger postman - until she passes away too and is reunited with her former owner.

Fans have been left heartbroken after watching the emotional scenes and shared their reactions in TikTok videos. Poking fun at the reaction of his fans, Lewis wrote: “I am now making children cry.”

This comes after the cheeky crooner debuted a brand new look on his social media, leaving fans divided. Sharing a photo of his moustache, Lewis wrote: “Have made too many children cry with my new music video for wish you the best so I’ve decided it’s time to assume a disguise for my own safety (it took me SIX WEEKS to grow this moustache and I had to colour it in with mascara so it was actually visible… I’m 26 years old).”
