Lewis Capaldi made a triumphant return to the stage at Glastonbury as he stripped off his t-shirt due to the heat.
"This is genuinely quite a surreal thing," he told the Pyramid Stage crowd on Saturday evening. Lewis, who recently took time out of performing for his mental health, arrived on stage to cheers from the crowd before he kicked off his set with his number one hit, Forget Me.
Lewis, 26, took to the stage in front of thousands of screaming fans at Glastonbury as the crowd cheekily chanted at the singer. At the beginning of his set, the Bruises singer brought up the warm weather and was met with the crowd chanting 'Take it off'.
The Scots singer proceeded to strip off his t-shirt later in the set during his performance of Wish You The Best, as the crowd went into a frenzy. After finishing up his performance, Lewis told the crowd his nipples and to 'pack in their peer pressure' as he was met with boos and the 'Take it off' chant.
Fans at home watching the BBC Glastonbury coverage took to Twitter as his performance aired. One wrote: "The Glasto audience screaming for Lewis Capaldi to take his top off is the best of British culture. I love to see it #Glastonbury".
However, one unhappy viewer penned: "Hope this #blossoms #rickastley feed starts soon…..we don’t need Lewis Capaldi topless for any longer than needed #Glastonbury".
Elsewhere in the gig, Lewis trolled the crowd by pretending to bring out Ed Sheeran for a surprise duet during his slot. Introducing his song Pointless, which he co-wrote with Ed, he said: "Ed Sheeran, ladies and gentlemen."
As the crowd went wild, he laughed: "…is not f***ing here."
