Lewis Capaldi fulfils 'life-long dream' after taking on Hot Ones spicy chicken wing challenge

Lewis Capaldi has fulfilled his 'lifelong dream' by appearing on Youtubers 'First We Feast' challenge 'Hot Ones'.

The 26-year-old star took on 10 increasingly spicy wings in the hugely popular Youtube series which has seen the likes of Jake Gyllenhaal and Niall Horan take on some of the spiciest sauces in the world.

The video - captioned 'Lewis Capaldi Grasps for a Lifeline While Eating Spicy Wings' - sees the Somebody You Loved singer talk Celtic FC chants, dating etiquette, and why he's not worried about AI writing his songs.

In 2018, the Grammy-nominated artist shared his 'life-long' dreams with fans, tweeting: "it is ma life long dream to be on that hot ones show on youtube".

And now, he is the first Scot to tackle the piping-hot challenge.

However, throughout the video Lewis is visibly struggling with the wildly popular challenge.

Speaking to interview host Sean Evans, Lewis states: "I'm nervous.

"I feel like I'm going to let a nation down here."

Throughout the video, Capaldi reminisces on playing at The Grange Bar in Faldhouse alognside Yungblud guitarist Adam Warrington.

Looking back at the early days in his career he said: "No-one gave a f*** about me and Adam playing, they actually disliked us playing gigs."

The star begins to appear tearful whilst he continues to chat to Sean - his first interview since cancelling all of his upcoming gigs.

Capaldi told Sean: "The question is a good one. Right, you just don't know anything. You learn you don't know anything and nobody has the answers.

"You don't know what a hit is - every time I think a song is a smash hit, it's a failure. Labels know nothing, you know nothing.

"Nobody knows anything. No offence". As he continued to eat chicken wings in varying levels of heat, the Scottish singer's eyes began to water.

Lewis asked: "Am I visibly crying? You are your own person."

Lewis added: "Americans make an effort to understand me - but posh British people are like 'I don't understand a word you're saying'."

The singer-songwriter, whose album has just been released, continued saying: "Right now it's hard to collect my thoughts."
