Lewis Capaldi cancels Stirling gig as he takes break for mental and physical health

Pop superstar Lewis Capaldi’s Stirling gigs have been cancelled after the singer announced a break from touring to focus on his mental and physical health.

The singer, who has Tourette’s Syndrome, returned to the stage after a three-week hiatus at the Glastonbury festival over the weekend, but visibly struggled to complete his set, with fans belting out some of his hits in heart-warming scenes.

The 26-year-old announced on Tuesday that he would not be returning to the stage “for the foreseeable future” in an effort to get his health issues in order – before apologising for a decision that he labelled the “most difficult” of his life.

It means that his special sold-out shows at the Albert Halls in Stirling set for August 18 have now been cancelled – with the venue confirming the news via a post on their social media.

The statement read: “Please see the message below from Lewis – our best wishes go out to him.

The gig was set to take place at the Albert Halls (Stirling Observer)

“If you have a ticket for the event in Stirling this August please contact the ticket provider you purchased from for refunds.”

The intimate shows – on the same day – were set to feature a special acoustic performance of tracks from his second album ‘Broken by Desire to be Heavenly Sent’ followed by a Q&A with the West Lothian sensation.

Tickets for the gigs were snapped up by fans within minutes of going on sale last month – with other shows in Perth and Dunfermline also cancelled following the singer’s enforced hiatus.
