Lewis Capaldi announces surprise Edinburgh gig but fans will have to be fast

West Lothian superstar Lewis Capaldi has announced a surprise gig in Edinburgh.

The 26-year-old will perform an acoustic set at the O2 Academy on Tuesday, followed by a Q & A session with Daniel Sloss.

It comes after Lewis released his highly anticipated second album Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent to rave reviews from fans.

Lewis performed two intimate acoustic gigs over the weekend which were accompanied by a Q+A session at Fat Sam's in Dundee ahead of his headlining slot at Radio 1's Big Weekend in the city next weekend. The star also held another gig at Glasgow's SWG3 where he opened up about his worst gig experience, reports the Daily Record.

Lewis recalled a time he was dropped by a promoter after no-one turned up to a gig just two years before his big break. He told fans: "It was the worst feeling in the world, as I got told we sold no tickets and we basically wouldn't be booked again.

"Cut to two years later, and I'm selling ALL the tickets. It's gone alright since."

He also opened up about his mental health when he closed Glasgow's TRNSMT festival and was met with an impressive reception from the crowd. Lewis said: "I was very anxious, I thought I was going to have a panic attack on stage as I was deep into the anxiety over making the second album.

"It was the test of my mental health if I was able to do this anymore, I had been away two years and had no new material.

"I didn't know if anybody was going to care, but they did, playing to a home crowd is a pretty beautiful thing."

Tickets for Lewis' surprise Edinburgh gig can be purchased here.
