Lewis Capaldi 2023 tour sells out in seconds leaving 'disappointed' fans without tickets

Thousands of Lewis Capaldi fans were left disappointed this morning as general sale tickets for his 2023 UK tour sold out within seconds.

Fans had the chance to purchase tickets from 9am today for the cheeky crooner's Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent tour.

The West Lothian star took to Twitter at 9:20am to confirm the tour had sold out, writing: "ENTIRE UK TOUR SOLD OUT IN A SINGLE SECOND at 9AM, completely lost for words thank u all so so so much."

Many fans have called for the Someone You Loved singer to add extra dates across his UK and European tour due to exceptional demand, however Capaldi has confirmed this won't be happening. He posted a screenshot from his notes app which reads: “Hello thought I’d also just say before these go on sale that there won’t be any extra dates for any cities.

“I really wish I could but I’m just one small chubby human who has to try to get to see as many of you all over the world as possible.”

He continued: "I also know that I'm only coming to a small number of the amazing places in the world, I'd love more than anything to be able to see every single one of ya but sadly it's not possible."

After the tour sold out in record timing, disappointed fans took to social media to vent their frustrations about missing out. One fan wrote: "Joined at 9:00 for Glasgow. 2662 in queue….5 minutes later “no tickets” ….. 1 minute later Viagogo has loads of tickets 3x the price! Just isn’t right"

"Absolutely disappointing after waiting from half 8 this morning to get @LewisCapaldi tickets for them all to be sold out in 15 minutes but yet @TicketmasterUK keep lettin people join the queue for them and im extremely disappointed to see people selling them not even an hour after," another fan ranted.

A third wrote: " @LewisCapaldi I tried getting tickets & hoped I would but not this time…it’s the luck of the draw…but reading some comments about how you should release more dates just isn’t fair…you probably won’t see this but please take time to look after yourself and be safe on your tour"

The Bruises singer even responded to one fans complaints, and admitted he felt 'terrible' that people were left disappointed and upset.

A fan wrote to him on Twitter: "I must say I'm very disappointed I pre-ordered the new CD so I could get the early access code, only to find out it was not worth the paper it was written on. I started to apply for my tickets as soon as the the early access opened at 9am to no avail. My wife is more than upset"

Lewis promptly replied: "hi mate i'm very sorry you missed out, pre-sale is meant to help genuine people like yourself have the best chance of getting in and stopping re-sellers by having the album order first, unfortunately there's only so many spaces in the venues that not everyone (1/2)...

"(2/2) will be able to get a ticket, try to do the most fair thing possible but there's never going to be a perfect way. Really sorry your wife is upset, hate reading every single message where someone is left feeling rubbish about it, makes me feel so terrible x"
