Let’s Make-Up: the new beauty launches to have on your radar in April 2025

In our monthly Let’s Make-Up round-up, we bring you a selection of the tried and tested, freshest, and buzziest beauty launches that are worth adding to your basket.

All types of lotions and potions across makeup, skincare, haircare and more cross our desks and we take it upon ourselves to review them all so you don’t have to. If we include it below, then you know it’s a good ‘un.

Are you wearing SPF? Spring is officially here and it is more important than ever to protect your skin with shielding formulations. But fear not if you’re ill-equipped as Augustinus Bader has released its long-awaited SPF 50 to combat the ageing effects of sun exposure.

To assist in getting you in the spring mood, The Body Shop has five fresh fragrances added to its line-up, while Maison Francis Kurkdjian takes inspiration from childhood for its latest elixir. And speaking of scent, the new JOONBYRD body serum is sure to spark joy with its cherry-based fragrance.

For all this and more, see our edit of the hottest beauty drops you need on your radar.

AOTROM Luxury Scented Candles

Packaged up in an unmissable mirrored silver box, AOTROM makes an impact as soon as you get your hands on it. The luxury candle label may be new but it is set for home fragrance domination where you will be drawn in as much for its striking vessel as you will for the aromas.

The brand name comes from the Scottish-Gaelic word for light and it will provide literal illumination as well as infuse your space with fresh, woody notes in Vine, anise and green leaf in Moss and deep bergamot and lemon in Aura. There are six all in and each is hand-poured in Scotland with locally sourced ingredients that are premium and clean.

JOONBYRD Kaleidoscope Smoothing Body Serum

Superfood-rich, the Kaleidoscope Smoothing Body Serum has been created with blueberry seed oil and Chios mandarin, and thus is chock-full of nutrients to treat the body to their hydrating, smoothing and nourishing properties. But you also get to maximise liquorice and shikimic and azelaic acids that have exfoliating effects while remaining gentle on the skin.

As with the rest of the Joonbyrd line-up, Dr Alexis Granite has paid attention to the wellness aspect of body care by infusing sensorial aromas. This serum was designed to offer a feeling of hopefulness and the delicious scent certainly helps to achieve this with the sweet notes of cherry and peony shining through.

Sculpted By Aimee LiquidGlo Brightening Essence

The latest launch from the makeup maestro behind Sculpted By Aimee is all about injecting glow into your skincare routine. The three-part offering calls on powerhouses like vitamin C, niacinamide and caffeine to tackle concerns like dullness, redness and dark circles. Alongside the eye cream complete with a cooling cryo-tip and serum with a high-performance dose of pigmentation-fighting vitamin C is the LiquidGlo Brightening Essence.

Use after cleansing to impart the hydrating benefits of niacinamide and a fermented ingredient blend that is at the heart of the formula. In testing, 100 per cent of people agreed that it combatted dullness. Can’t argue with that.

Maison Francis Kurkdjian Kurky Eau de parfum

There is an immediate feeling of nostalgia when you catch a whiff of the new Kurky EDP from legendary nose Francis Kurkdjian. These elements are complemented by creamy musk and vanilla.

Augustinus Bader The SPF 50

As sun exposure is one of the leading causes of skin ageing, it feels only right that legendary label Augustinus Bader (known for its anti-ageing The Cream and The Rich Cream) has expanded its skincare selection to include an SPF 50. The facial product that feels a long time coming provides broad-spectrum protection from UVA and UVB rays to prevent and reduce the appearance of wrinkles.

While acting as a shield, the cream combats redness, enhances glow and results in long-lasting hydration.

The Body Shop Full Flower

There is something of a IYKYK lore around The Body Shop’s fragrances that are far punchier than the modest price tag suggests. Building on its success, there are five new aromas joining the collection, each spotlighting popular notes.

There is the classic Full Rose that is offset with a spicy touch of cardamom, Full Iris that pairs iris concrete with juniper berry and Full Ylang Ylang that marries the named component with black pepper. You will also find Full Orange Blossom which is juicy and crisp and Full Magnolia with notes of green rhubarb and white woods alongside the natural magnolia essential oil.

ReVive Brightening Eye Cream

With every new launch, RéVive demonstrates its dedication to tackling our concerns with science-backed formulations and innovation. This is certainly the case with the Brightening Eye Cream, which fans of the brand may find familiar (the Révive Brightening Serum has the same shimmering gold exterior).

The colourway is an indication of the glow-giving formula inside that calls on Tetrahexyldecyl (THD) Ascorbate, a more gentle form of vitamin C.This ingredient is said to be even more effective with niacinamide to even tone and caffeine to encourage microcirculation.

For anti-ageing, there is the brand’s own Bio-Renewal Peptide to blur wrinkles, hyaluronic filling spheres to enhance this and Zerumbone (wild ginger) extract to combat oxidative stress and calm redness.

MONPURE Ceramide Complex Bond Repair

You may be familiar with the term bond repair from the bestselling Olaplex collection but now MONPURE is getting in on the action with a shampoo and conditioner set to revitalise your strands with every wash day.

The formula includes amino acids that were designed to tackle overproteinisation that can lead to breakage. While doing so, PCA and prodew hydrate and strengthen, and Palmaria Palmata Extract prevents split ends.
