"Let's keep that off air!" - Laura Woods laughs off Ray Parlour question on bedtime attire

Laura Woods laughed off a cheeky question from Arsenal legend Ray Parlour as the duo went completely off-script discussing pyjamas.

Presenter Woods and Parlour were joined by former West Ham striker Carlton Cole in the studio on talkSPORT's popular Breakfast Show.

But the conversation quickly veered away from football and onto the topic of bedtime attire during the start of the show.

Host Woods was promoting the return of Chris Evans on Virgin radio, with an advert of the DJ alongside colleague Graham Norton showing the pair in matching pyjamas.

She then asked the former Premier League stars about what they wear to bed and Parlour quickly responded: “What do you wear, Laura?”

"Arsenal pyjamas, always. Top and bottoms," Woods replied. A confused Cole said: "Why would you not just wear the top?” and Woods responded: "Why would you not wear the matching set?"

Cole then laughed off Woods's joke that he wears either West Ham or David Moyes-themed pyjamas. Parlour again quizzed Woods on her own bedtime attire and the host jokingly shut him down.

Woods said: "Let's keep that for a break. Off-air is off-air, Ray Parlour, isn't it?" She then took a jovial dig at the show's producers for raising the topic in the first place.

"You know what, you should not have brought up pyjamas with these two in the room. What did you think was going to happen?” Woods exclaimed.

The 35-year-old has become renowned as one of the leading sports presenters in recent years and has also revealed that close friend Parlour was a childhood hero growing up as an Arsenal fan.

Discussing her team's title chances with Parlour, Woods claimed Mikel Arteta's side should be in no way deemed a failure if they cannot repeat what the ex-Gunners midfielder did and lift the Premier League title.

“Of course I will be disappointed, massively disappointed, but they were supposed to fail every minute, after the first few games, and at Christmas,” she said. "Come the New Year, Arsenal were supposed to fall away and they haven’t. They have proved everyone wrong.

"I don’t like these kind of binary arguments about if you win the league or if is a failure. I think there is so much more you can celebrate in football, so for me, no."
