Another week, another round of street style. That's not a complaint, it's actually a good thing. Each week brings new outfits to try and replicate. Even if your budget doesn't allow you to buy the same designer pieces actually seen on showgoers. Luckily, there's plenty to aspire to when it comes to Milan Fashion Week Fall 2024 street style.
It's relatively easy to figure out which shows street stylists were headed to based on their ensembles. Practically everyone was decked out in Fendi's colorful colorblock creations seen on the fashion house's Spring 2024 runway to see what the brand has in store for Fall 2024. Literally the whole collection is represented. There are even some cases where people were caught wearing very similar looks. Gasp. Which, surprisingly given all the fashion week traffic, doesn't happen that often.
The same situation arose for Diesel. Glenn Martens has really managed to turn the fashion house around by creating covetable items that even the street style set is powerless to ignore. From the denim-on-denim looks to the more revealing separates, the Spring 2024 collection is on full display. We also spotted several Diesel Fall 2023 must-haves.
TikTok trends show no signs of fading away into virtual obscurity. Mob wives are well represented via fur, both real and faux, coats. Office sirens are straddling the line between office and date night wear. Apparently everyone's totally digging Beyoncé's new Western era because there are tons of cowboy hats popping up over in Italy's capital. Let's just hope those hats came off for the shows because nothing is worse than sitting behind someone at a runway presentation whose topper partially obscures the view. Especially from the front row.
Sometimes it's hard to distinguish what season we're in. One minute we're reminded it's still winter with extravagant coats and sartorially-minded layering. Then all of a sudden we're convinced it must be spring courtesy of some strategic skin being exposed to the elements. Being confused is perfectly acceptable in this instance because it provides outfit inspiration for us now and later. It even helps us move with ease between the two strikingly different seasons. After all, March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb so you need to be prepared for that almost always chaotic journey.
Matching sets are a big theme. Whether it be in the form of suits, including the skirt variety, or double denim. There's even a patterned dress that comes complete with matching tights. Boots and heels share top billing. Another nod to the seasonal discrepancy prevalent over the course of the "week." Much like the wrong shoe theory, the street style set frequently ignores the predilection to coordinate your bag to your shoes. Or to your entire ensemble for that matter.
