Manchester United fans look to be admitting defeat as more reports emerge suggesting Cristiano Ronaldo could leave the club.
The Times report that Ronaldo has asked to be allowed to leave Old Trafford should the club receive a satisfactory offer this summer. The 37-year-old is said to have made the decision as he wishes to play Champions League football for the remainder of his career.
Ronaldo’s future has been the subject of much speculation since he returned to United last year. Their failure to qualify for the Champions League next season has fuelled rumours suggesting he could look to leave the club.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner was linked with a move to Bayern Munich earlier in the window, although the German club went on to deny the rumours. Since then, reports have suggested Ronaldo’s agent, Jorge Mendes, discussed a potential move to Chelsea when meeting with the Blues’ new owner Todd Boehly.
United have insisted that Ronaldo is not for sale, but the latest reports add more fuel to the fire. And United fans look as though they’re coming to terms with potentially losing their talisman this summer.
While Ronaldo is linked with a move away from United, the Portuguese ace is expected to return to training with the club soon. The players involved in the recent international fixtures are set to start returning to Carrington next week before the club’s pre-season tour of Thailand and Australia.
