A lesser-known rule could kick into play to help determine the winner of this season's Serie A title.
Scott McTominay and Billy Gilmour are in the midst of a title battle as Napoli contests against Inter Milan to see who wins the league.
With only five games to go, the teams are level on 71 points.
That came after Inter slipped up at Bologna on Sunday night, conceding a last-minute goal, ensuring that Napoli's victory over Monza kept them level on points.
Inter's goal difference is much better off, with 13 more than Antonio Conte's men, but their head-to-head record is identical after playing out two 1-1 draws this season.
However, while goal-difference is a major player in other leagues across the world, Serie A is NOT one of them.
Of course, it is used to separate teams in terms of league position; however, in Italy, they do not use this as a means of settling title winners.
Instead, a specific rule comes into play, which has previously determined the winner of the league, or indeed, relegated teams.
Essentially, if Inter and Napoli remain level on points after the final weekend of matches, then they will take part in a one-off, title-deciding play-off game.
The side with the superior goal difference will boast home advantage. If level after 90 minutes, then it's straight to penalties.
This has happened just once before, when Inter were defeated by Bologna in 1964.
More recently, just two years ago, a play-off came into play to settle who stayed in Serie A, involving Spezia and Hellas Verona. The former were relegated.
