Leslie Bibb's classic kitchen color is a timeless staple – designers say it serves as the perfect 'blank backdrop' for her modern farmhouse scheme

White kitchens have been popular since their inception. The clean, bright shade makes cooking spaces feel larger and dirt is visible, making cleaning easier. Leslie Bibb taps into the enduring magic of the shade in her small kitchen.

We spotted the actress's white kitchen in the background of a getting ready video for the Emmys. Her space has white cabinets with stylized wainscotting, and a white marble island. Two canister-shaped pendant lights hang over the countertop. Leslie's hardware is made of silver stainless steel. Altogether, the look is clean, bright, and spacious.

According to experts, a modern white kitchen will never go out of style. 'White kitchens exude a sense of cleanliness and spaciousness that is hard to match,' explains Nina Lichtenstein, New York-based interior designer. She continues, 'The color white reflects light, making even the smallest kitchens feel open and airy. This timeless appeal ensures that white kitchens remain relevant regardless of changing trends. The neutral palette acts as a blank backdrop, allowing for endless customization and personalization, whether you favor a minimalist modern look or a more traditional style.'

Part of what makes the color a good choice is its versatility, and it looks especially striking in a modern farmhouse kitchen, like Leslie's. Nina Lichtenstein explains: 'The modern farmhouse style, characterized by a blend of rustic charm and contemporary elegance, often features white kitchens. Shaker cabinets, farmhouse sinks, and vintage hardware complement the crisp white backdrop.'

If you want to recreate Leslie's look, it's important to ensure that your white kitchen isn't boring with personalization. Nina advises: 'Add warmth and personality to a white kitchen with colorful or textured accents. Consider vibrant backsplashes, patterned rugs, or bold bar stools to introduce pops of color. Metallic accessories in brass or copper can make the design feel sophisticated.'

Sometimes going simple is the best possible choice you can make with your design. In the case of white kitchens, a classic is a classic for a reason.
