Les Snead: Rams definitely want Odell Beckham Jr. back, even after signing Allen Robinson

The Los Angeles Rams entered the offseason with a handful of notable free agents, Odell Beckham Jr. being one of them. Beckham is one of the biggest names that remains unsigned this offseason, but Les Snead made it clear that the Rams are interested in having him back in 2022 – even after signing Allen Robinson.

Snead told reporters Tuesday that it’s a “more complex situation” due to Beckham’s knee injury, but the Rams want to re-sign him so that he can contribute on offense when he is healthy.

Following his release from the Cleveland Browns during the 2021 campaign, Beckham surprisingly chose to sign with the Rams. The timing of Beckham’s arrival was perfect for Los Angeles as Robert Woods suffered a season-ending knee injury one day after Beckham was signed.

In eight regular-season games with the Rams, Beckham totaled 27 receptions, 305 yards, and five touchdowns. The Pro Bowl wideout would improve his chemistry with Matthew Stafford in the postseason, recording 21 receptions for 288 yards and two touchdowns en route to a Super Bowl victory.

Beckham was on pace for a special performance in the Super Bowl before he tore his ACL in the second quarter of the game. The knee ailment that Beckham sustained in the Super Bowl is one of the main reasons the Rams and Beckham have yet to agree on a new contract.

With Beckham not expected to be ready until sometime during the 2022 season, Snead realizes that both sides will need to agree on a deal that benefits everyone involved. Even with Robinson signing with the Rams in free agency — and following the trade of Woods — Snead is making it known that he wants to see Beckham sporting a Rams’ uniform beyond this past season.
