Leon King has been urged to stay at Rangers and continue his first-team education.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst handed the young defender a new deal and has installed him as a regular part of his top team at Ibrox. He's already featured 12 times this season including a start in the Champions League Battle of Britain clash with Liverpool at Anfield. Over the coming months, the 18-year-old is set for an extended run in the Rangers starting squad with ever-present key defender Connor Goldson ruled out injured. He hobbled off in the Ibrox mauling to the Reds, with King and summer recruit Ben Davies set for big roles in the heart of the defence for the next period.
The likes of Manchester United have been reported to be monitoring his progress alongside English Premier League rivals Leeds United and Newcastle United. He's under contract in Glasgow until summer 2024 as things stand and former EPL goalkeeper and England international Paul Robinson believes he would be best to stay in Glasgow and playing week in, week out rather than a loan move or Under-23 football if he moved south.

Speaking to Football Insider, Robinson said: “For the player, it would be best to stay at Rangers.
“You have to question whether it would be wise to come into the Premier League at 18 years old. Would he be involved in the first team? He would probably play in the under-23s or be loaned out.
“He would be far better off playing for a top quality team like Rangers week in, week out. You will learn more quickly that way.
“It is better for the player and better for the club. The club will be able to sell you for more in a few years time when you have 50 games behind you.
“Premier League clubs try to sign these young players on the cheap. They try to sign them before they develop into top players.”
