Leon King ‘set’ for Rangers loan exit, manager ready to section move

Queen’s Park are in talks with Rangers to sign fringe defender Leon King on loan, with the Scottish Championship side keen to secure his services ahead of a vital away clash against Raith Rovers this Saturday.

The 21-year-old centre-back, who has struggled to find consistent game time at Ibrox, has emerged as a top target for the Spiders as they look to bolster their defensive options for the season run-in.

The Daily Record claim that Rangers interim manager Barry Ferguson is ready to sanction the move in the coming hours.

King wasn’t in Ferguson’s travelling squad as he made his Rangers dugout bow at Kilmarnock on Wednesday, suggesting that he’s currently surplus to requirements.

The Scotland Under-21s starlet has made just five senior appearances for the Light Blues this season.
