The two almost appeared to be wearing matching outfits as Leo dawned a crisp white shirt while Matt looked more casual, opting for a plain white t-shirt.
People flocked to the comment section to commend the couple's bravery for wearing the outfits with such a messy meal.
One user said: "Wings, Wine & White shirts!!!"
A second wrote: "Wings and white shirt? Very brave"
While a third said: "Brave with the white shirts lads."
Others told the couple to enjoy their meal together.
They said: "Fab couple enjoy".
Another wrote: "Enjoy your night you deserved it".
While a third said: "Oh lovely!! Enjoy".
The couple, who have been together since 2015, moved into a luxury home last year after cardiologist Matt purchased the three-bedroom house on South Circular Road.
Leo's partner has managed to keep himself mostly out of the limelight, only appearing in newspapers on special occasions.
Matt revealed in a TG4 interview that he could speak fluent Irish as both his parents were primary school teachers and encouraged him to speak the language at home.
The fluent speaker has been helping Leo with his Irish since he became Taoiseach in 2017 and said they often speak Gaeilge while on holiday.
Elsewhere, Leo's success in the world of politics came as no shock to his parents or family, although they never imagined the heights he would reach.
In an interview with the Irish Times, Leo's mother, Miriam, said: "I knew he'd be a leader. I knew he'd be something. I knew he would reach the top in whatever he chose, but a Taoiseach? No."
The proud parents said they were surprised when Leo chose to join Fine Gael as Miriam came from a Fianna Fail family, and Leo's father Ashok voted Labour while he lived in the UK.
Miriam said: "Everyone adored him. He was adorable, a gorgeous baby, and then he went into Fine Gael. And that's it."
When asked if this was a surprise, she said: "Yes."
Leo's father had hoped he would follow in his footsteps in medicine which he did for a while.
Ashok said: "And then he became a member of Fine Gael. Maybe he was revolting."
The Tanaiste's family have a long history in politics, and from the age of 10, he began to develop a huge interest.
Leo's father comes from a very political family in India.
His two eldest brothers were both involved in the freedom movement against the British; one of them was arrested and served a year in jail as a political prisoner.
