Leo Varadkar has said the summer can officially begin - as he enjoyed Ireland's 'mini-heatwave' with a barbecue alongside his partner Matthew Barrett.
The Tanaiste got the grill and a virtual chef's hat out on Sunday afternoon as temperatures soared up to 29C across the country, with the sizzling spell set to continue for at leas another couple of days.
Posing alongside his partner Matthew, the Fine Gael leader declared "the BBQ season open" while relaxing in the weekend sun, having seemingly cooked up quite a spread.

Leo was dressed-down for the occasion, donning a simple red shirt while holding a pint of water in the pic - even going as far as to add an Instagram sticker of a chef's hat.
The duo certainly seemed busy as the table in front of them was covered with potatoes, cheese, salad and various different meats.
It's a rare occasion where we were given a glimpse into the pair's personal life, with cardiologist Matthew also going for a casual grey shirt and shorts combo in the post to Leo's 190k followers.
One thing that was missing from the table were chicken wings, though we already know that they enjoy that BBQ staple after another Instagram last month.
In the June pic, the pair were seen sitting at their Dublin home's kitchen table as they tucked into some delicious-looking wings.
Leo shared the snap with his 199k Instagram followers, captioning it: "Tuesday night is wing night. Very bold!"
The couple, who have been together since 2015, moved into a luxury home last year after Matt purchased the three-bedroom house on South Circular Road.
Leo has previously opened up about adopting a healthier lifestyle after being unhappy with his eating habits.
“I used to be very overweight, I was 114 kilos with a 40-inch waist once upon a time and have managed to improve that over the years," he said in 2019.
“I’ve also given up alcohol for Lent which I think will help because obviously alcohol is full of sugar.
“After you drink a few glasses of wine, you’re much more likely to have the dessert, eat something you shouldn’t eat, but yeah and I probably do, during the day, snack on crisps and sweets.
“You convince yourself you’re not having a lot of them but... if I were to put them all on the one plate during the day, it would be a lot.”
