Shredding on guitar too intensely has resulted in a very revealing wardrobe malfunction for Lenny Kravitz.

The 51-year-old rocker was performing in Stockholm to thousands of excited fans when he squatted down for a guitar solo, promptly splitting his tight leather pants open at the crotch.

Due to a lack of underwear, Kravitz was left with his business fully exposed.

He exited the stage shortly afterwards before returning in different pants to tell the crowd: "Sorry, I ripped my trousers."

"It was insane, I killed myself laughing," a concert-goer told Expressen.

"And then I called my mum who was there at the show as well. Her reaction was the same and she almost killed herself laughing too."

Kravitz's hits includes It Ain't Over 'Til It's Over, American Woman and Fly Away and he holds the record for the most Grammy Awards in the category Best Male Rock Vocal Performance.
