Lennon Miller transfer latest with Tony Bloom 'driving' deal for Celtic target

Celtic transfer target Lennon Miller could reportedly be on the move to Belgium this summer, which, in the end, may pave the way for a switch to the English Premier League.

The Parkhead side's interest in the talented young midfielder has been well-documented, with recent reports suggesting they could make a summer move if the price is right.

Now, though, The Scottish Sun claims that top-flight Belgian side Union Saint Gilloise are 'working on a deal' to sign Miller from Motherwell for £5m and eventually sell him on to their sister club, Brighton and Hove Albion.

It is believed that the English Premier League outfit view the 18-year-old as a 'superb long-term prospect', and after he gains more experience in Belgium, he could be ready to make the move to the south coast.

USG's minority stakeholder Tony Bloom is said to be 'driving the deal'. Bloom owns Brighton but also lets the Belgian side, who are now 'leading the race' for Miller, use the data-driven scouting model he recently sold to Heart of Midlothian.

As the summer transfer window approaches, Miller's future remains very much up in the air.

The midfielder was asked about January transfer speculation when he was recovering from a recent injury: "My aim was to get back fit," Miller told Motherwell Times.

"That stuff takes care of itself, and I was just trying to get focused to get back on the pitch and play for Motherwell.

"It's obviously not nice to get injured, and for it to be longer than I first expected it to be is a tough one, but you've got to get your head down. You've got to work hard and come back as fit as possible and then build up from there."
