Lennon Miller returns to Motherwell training after injury and transfer speculation

Motherwell have been handed a major boost with Lennon Miller back in full training ahead of Saturday’s Scottish Premiership clash with Ross County at Fir Park.

The 18-year-old midfielder has been sidelined since December 29 due to an ankle fracture but is now available for selection.

His return comes after he was linked with a move away throughout the recent winter transfer window, with champions Celtic among his admirers.

Motherwell, who remain without a permanent manager following Stuart Kettlewell’s shock resignation, also knocked back a deadline-day bid from Belgian side Union St-Gilloise for the Scotland Under-21s star, who spent a significant period of his injury rehabilitation wearing a moon boot.

Jair Tavares has also returned to full training, while Apostolos Stamatelopoulos continues his recovery from a calf injury.

The treatment table has been piling up at Motherwell, but Jack Vale has been allowed rejoin parent club Blackburn Rovers to undergo surgery on an Achilles issue that will sideline him for a significant period.

Goalkeeper Archie Mair has also gone under the knife after suffering a fractured hand.

And the club state that defender Marvin Kaleta is being monitored after sustaining a knee injury in a league defeat to Celtic earlier this month.
