Len Goodman was tackling secret health issues before he passed away at the age of 78, it has been reported.
The Strictly Come Dancing legend died on Saturday evening from bone cancer while surrounded by family.
When previously diagnosed with cancer, he still worked on Dancing With The Stars in the US and a series of Strictly as well.
He previously revealed that he battled prostate cancer but at the time decided only to tell those closest to him.
Len said that he decided to carry on working after treatment rather than skip filming the live shows on DWTS.
He previously told the MailOnline : " I could have said 'sorry' and not done the show, but the doctors felt I wasn't riddled with it and it wasn’t so far advanced that it was a life-or-death scenario."
He added: "It takes a few weeks to get everything set up for the operation anyway, so I went ahead and did the show. I had the surgery done as soon as I got back from America. I've had the surgery now. Everything's gorgeously good."
This isn't the only time Len came close with cancer as in 2020 he talked about having a mole removed from his forehead.
Speaking on Good Morning Britain, he said he was advised to get his mole checked after someone noticed it while he was playing golf.
He said: "I'm not medical at all, so I said, 'I don't know, what is it?' I went and they took it out and it's gone. It was a tiny little thing on my forehead… probably because I play a lot of golf and I don't wear a hat, which I do now.
"It was good that it was what it was because it was like a little early warning, which was good because I would have probably carried on in my own sweet way and it could have become something far worse!"
A spokeswoman confirmed that Len had passed away over the weekend to the MailOnline: "I can confirm he died peacefully over the weekend surrounded by his family."
Len had been staying in a hospice in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, when he died on Saturday evening.
