Liverpool Women defender Leighanne Robe has signed a new contract to extend her four-year stay with the club.
The 28-year-old emerged through Arsenal's youth set up and spent time at Watford and Millwall before she completed the move to Merseyside in 2018. She was an integral part of Matt Beard's side that earned promotion from the FA Women's Championship last season, regularly playing as part of the manager's preferred back three formation.
She also scored her first goals for the club last term with an impressive hat-trick against Lincoln in the Women’s FA Cup back in January. Robe joins Ceri Holland, Melissa Lawley and Megan Campbell in committing their future to the club ahead of the new season.

Robe said: “I’m really happy to have signed a new deal and to be staying for the new season going into the WSL. It really doesn’t feel like I’ve been here for four years, I feel that reflects the team spirit we have at the moment and Matt coming in last year - I said then it literally felt like I’d joined a new team!
“When we got relegated (2020) I signed a new contract, I wanted to commit to the club and the challenge of getting back to the WSL so it was satisfying when we did that last season and I can go back into the WSL with Liverpool.”
Manager Beard returned to Merseyside ahead of last season having previously guided the Reds to back-to-back WSL titles in 2013 and 2014. Following relegation at the end of the 2019/20 campaign, Beard helped Liverpool to promotion in impressive fashion last term.
The boss believes Robe is 'deserving' of a new deal. He added: “Robey had a great season, she’s a great one v one defender, very rarely gets beat. I’m really pleased with her progression over the year on the tactical side.
“The big thing we want to create again this year is the competition for places. We’ve got some fantastic defenders at the club and it’ll be difficult for me to pick a team this year.
“Robey deserves a new deal and I’m really looking forward to see how she kicks on this year.”
