Leigh Wood puts his WBA featherweight title on the line against Michael Conlan.
The Nottingham born champion is set to defend his belt against Belfast’s Conlan in what should be a tough test.
The bout will be Wood's first title defence, as he looks to elevate his stature - in a bid to one day fight at Nottingham Forest’s City Ground.
The 33-year-old has never hidden his ambition to headline an event at the home of his beloved football club but first Conlan stands in his way.
As mentioned, it will be a tough test for Wood come Saturday, with Conlan the bookies’ favourite to win in front of a sold-out crowd.
His last fight was a WBA Interim World title win over TJ Doheny at Falls Park back in August. Wood, meanwhile, won the title off China's Xu Can last July in an upset.
