Man City returned to winning ways as Savinho scored his first goal for the club in a 2-0 victory over struggling Leicester, and you can watch the highlights below.
The £30m summer signing latched onto the rebound after Phil Foden’s long-range strike was parried away and the Brazilian smashed the ball past the keeper.
His goal in the 21st minute came in a shaky half for the reigning Premier League champions. City dominated possession but Leicester had their chances and were able to play through Pep Guardiola’s side at ease.
City defenders were statues as Facundo Buanonotte headed off the post after James Justin’s header was blocked.
A mazy Erling Haaland run led to the Norwegian striker shooting wide. While City were lucky Jamie Vardy strayed offside before he was brought down by Stefan Ortega, as otherwise they would have likely faced a penalty.
For much of the second-half the Foxes looked the more likely to score the next goal of the match.
Buanonotte went to ground when he had time to get a shot away. Bilal El Khannous curled his effort wide while Vardy put the ball over the crossbar after a dangerous cross from Stephy Mavididi.
Those missed chances came back to bite Leicester, as Man City struck again in the 74th minute.
Jakub Stolarczyk could do nothing as Haaland headed a Savinho cross past him into the back of the net.
The victory will give Man City some hope their fortunes can improve in 2025 after a tough start to the season. The same can be said for Savinho who has struggled since his summer signing from Girona.

The result leaves the Foxes rooted in the relegation zone. However, their performance will give them some confidence they can rectify this in the new year.
Man City meanwhile move up to fifth in the table. Though still four points off fourth-placed Chelsea who have a game in hand.
