A book of condolence has been opened outside Leicester City's stadium in honour of the club's owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha.

Mr Srivaddhanaprabha was killed along with four others in a devastating helicopter crash outside the King Power Stadium on Saturday.

Nusara Suknami, Kaveporn Punpare, Izabela Roza Lechowicz and pilot Eric Swaffer also died when the £6 million aircraft fell from the sky and burst into flames around 8.30pm.

Leicester City has also announced that an online book of condolence will be available to sign as well.

The online book of condolence will be made available on the club's website for those unable to make it to the stadium and wish to pay their respects.

The club said it will open on Tuesday.

The club said in a statement: "A marquee has been set up outside the Foxes Fanstore, with fans invited to attend.

"Four stations have been set up inside the marquee, which will be open from 8am until 10pm GMT every day for the foreseeable future.

"An online book of condolence will also be available on LCFC.com for those who are unable to make it to King Power Stadium.

"The Club would like to thank supporters for their overwhelming support and kind wishes since the tragic events of Saturday evening."

How to sign the book of condolence at the stadium

A book of condolence was opened at 8am this morning in a marquee next to a makeshift shrine outside the stadium

Mourners gathered today to add their names to the book where thousands have already laid a sea of flowers, football shirts and cards at the shrine.

Mr Srivaddhanaprabha's son, who is the club's vice-chairman, and his mother Aimon paid tribute yesterday, laying a wreath at the site before mourning with footballers Jamie Vardy and Kasper Schmeical.

Mr Srivaddhanaprabha was a hugely popular figure among Leicester fans, and helped bankroll the club's 5,000-1 Premier League title fairytale in 2016.

More than 25,000 people have so far signed a petition calling for a statue of Mr Srivaddhanaprabha to be erected outside the ground and there are calls to rename the stadium as the Khun Vichai in his honour.

Leicester City have been contacted for details on when the online book of condolence will be available.

What happened to the Leicester City helicopter on Saturday?

Mr Srivaddhanaprabh was killed along with staff members Nursara Suknamai and Kaveporn Punpare, pilot Eric Swaffer and his partner Isabela Roza Lechowicz when the helicopter carrying them crashed outside the stadium on Saturday.

Harrowing CCTV has captured the moment the helicopter spiralled from the sky, just moments after it took off around 8.30pm, an hour after Leicester's game with West Ham ended 1-1.

An investigation has been launched into why the helicopter span out of control moments after lifting off from the centre circle following the match.

Mr Swaffer has been hailed a hero for steering the spinning aircraft away from crowds of people still leaving the stadium.
