Leicester City are 'pushing hard' to try and persuade James Maddison to commit his long-term future to the club amid expected interest from Newcastle United and Manchester City in the summer.
That is according to 90Min, who claim that Leicester are prepared to make Maddison the 'highest paid player in the club's history'.
The Foxes rejected two bids from Newcastle for Maddison back in the summer, while Man City have also shown an interest in the England international.
Maddison continued to be linked with the Magpies during the January transfer window, although a move failed to materialise.

The attacking midfielder will have only a year remaining on his contract at the King Power Stadium in the summer. Although the Foxes have opened negotiations over a new contract, LeicestershireLive have reported that there is nothing to suggest that a deal is close.
The 26-year-old has been in stellar form for Leicester this term - registering nine goals and five assists in 16 Premier League appearances.
His form prior to the World Cup also earned him a slot in Gareth Southgate's England squad, although Maddison didn't feature as the Three Lions reached the quarter-final in Qatar.
Maddison missed four consecutive league games following the World Cup break, but has marked his return with two goals and one assist in his last two starts.
