Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers has revealed that they are hopeful of having defensive midfielder Wilfred Ndidi fit to face Nottingham Forest on Monday night.
The Nigeria international did not feature for the Super Eagles in their friendly against Algeria on Tuesday - unlike Forest centre-forward Taiwo Ayoniyi who came on as a second-half substitute - having already returned to the East Midlands after only taking part in light training sessions earlier in the break. Ndidi's participation was deemed not worth the risk after tweaking a hamstring muscle during Leicester's last outing against Tottenham Hotspur.
That resulted in a late withdrawal to be replaced by fellow midfielder Boubakary Soumaré, but prior to that, Ndidi has played the full 90 minutes in five out of their six Premier League matches this season, with the only exception being against Chelsea when he was introduced for a late cameo. Rodgers is now hopefully having his midfielder back to bolster the midfield against the Reds

“We had Wilfred Ndidi come back early, but he’s looking really positive,” Rodgers told LeicestershireLive at his press conference on Friday afternoon. “He trained this morning, so he hopefully will be fine.”
The Leicester boss also confirmed that Belgium international midfielder Dennis Praet, who had been "struggling", has "come through the last few days well and has looked good in training" so may be able to bolster the bench once again. Forward Patson Daka also missed out on claiming another international cap for Zambia through illness, but it is also hoped he will be fine to present Rodgers with almost a fully-fit squad, with the only absentees being full-backs Ricardo Pereira and former Forest loanee Ryan Bertrand.
