Clarence Seedorf’s nephew is on trial with Cork City and scored in a pre-season win last night.
Quentin Seedorf, 22, scored the opening goal in the Rebels’ 2-0 friendly win over UCC in Crosshaven ahead of the new season.
A pacey left-sided player who can slot in at full-back or winger, Seedorf has been training with City for the last two weeks.
It remains to be seen if he will land a contract for Colin Healy’s side who are back in the top flight after First Division glory last year.
But Mirror Sport understands the Rebels are still in the market for three or four more players before their opening game at home to Bohemians on February 17.
Seedorf, who was most recently with Polish second tier side Zagłębie Sosnowiec and Dutch outfit Vitesse before that, is set to play again in Saturday’s friendly with Treaty United.
His uncle, Clarence Seedorf was one of European football’s star players through the 1990s and 2000s, lining out for AC Milan, Inter Milan, Real Madrid, Sampdoria and Ajax.
The 46-year-old is a four-time Champions League winner, made 87 appearances for the Netherlands and later managed AC Milan, Deportiva la Coruna and Cameroon.
