Following Arsenal's 1-0 win away at Aston Villa last month, the players' post-match celebrations were called out and not for the first time. Speaking to VillaTV after the game, Ashley Young said that "it was like they (Arsenal) won the league."
Young's comments came just a month after Wolves' Ruben Neves also questioned the fashion in which the Gunners celebrated at the full-time whistle. "I didn't see Arsenal celebrating like this in the past 10 years - it was like they won the league," the Wolves man said.
Digs surrounding Arsenal's celebrations have become a regular theme this season, leaving supporters frustrated due to the lack of understanding behind the team spirit and passion. However, Young has given them a reason to laugh back at him today after the 36-year-old scored an own-goal during Villa's 2-1 defeat away at Wolves.

The defender replaced Lucas Digne in the 13th minute but unfortunately for him, it would lead to unfortunate circumstances as he headed Marcal's cross into his own net. The Arsenal faithful instantly took to social media to sarcastically hit back at the former England international.

@sensible_gunner said: "Ashley Young will be having a moan about Neves celebrating Young’s own goal like they won the league…although Neves complained about Arsenal celebrating after winning against Wolves with 10 men…Just gonna sit back, watch it and laugh!"
@therealtaiwo said: "Ashley Young is really a man of his words. This man mocked Arsenal for breaching the rules. He's just scored a beautiful goal and kept his calm. No celebration. Legend.
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta recently hit back at Young's comments and reiterated he fully backs his players to celebrate however they want following a hard-fought victory. "I don't tell the players to celebrate or not. It's something that comes from them," he said. "When I see them hugging each other, celebrating with the fans, for me it's great. They have to celebrate, of course."
