Leeds United are winless in four matches but Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp remains wary of the threat Marcelo Bielsa's men carry.
Speaking ahead of tomorrow's fixture at Anfield, Klopp was especially complimentary of Leeds' style, their approach and man-marking structure.
The German held his pre-match press conference on Tuesday afternoon where he told journalists that if Liverpool were not on their game, then "Leeds will eat you."
Klopp also commended Leeds' physical exertion, commending the Whites' high-intensity running and distance covered over the course of this season, before comparing tomorrow's fixture with the 4-3 at Anfield back in September 2020 - Leeds' first game back in the top flight for 16 years.
"Leeds fight to stay in this league and they really never give up so we have to make sure we cannot help tomorrow. We have a lot of work to do.
"Leeds man mark all over the pitch so if you are not in the game then Leeds will eat you. They are leading in 3 decisive Premier League running stats. You have to be ready for these runs and they never give up on top of that. Some spectacular results in both directions," Klopp added, as per the Liverpool Echo.
After earning promotion in 2020, Leeds went 44 consecutive league games - with 11 men on the pitch - in which they outran their opponents, before being beaten in this particular endeavour against Southampton earlier this season.
Marcelo Bielsa's training style and Leeds' players' desire has been a regular topic of debate amongst opposition managers in pre-and-post-match press conferences.
The Liverpool coach also divulged key information that the Reds will be missing both Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino for the game.
This is likely to hand January signing Luis Diaz another opportunity from the start, along with Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane following their return from the African Cup of Nations.
"[Jota and Firmino have] No chance for tomorrow, Sunday we will see. It will be easier for me to say no now but they are pushing. [They are] Not on the pitch for training which is not a good sign. We'll make a decision in the week."
Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa provided an injury update of his own this morning in his pre-match press briefing.
